Ms Shengpan Zhang

I am a 3rd year DPhil student in Molecular Cell Biology in Health and Disease. My project focuses on the cell biological and molecular characterisation of a novel  ‘don’t eat me’ barrier molecule called CD43 that modulates macrophage recognition of apoptotic cells and may influence the inflammatory state of macrophages as a consequence of efferocytosis, an essential process for organism development, tissue homeostasis and pathogen control.
